Middleton Youth Band today embarked on their first ever music contest. We travelled up to Haslingden High School this morning and there were a few worried faces.
They played a 10 minute programme – Gonna Fly Now, Cool Cat Blues, Summer Romance and Let Me Entertain You.
The whole band played brilliantly and the remarks were very complimentary. The 2 solos by the Principle Cornet, Callum Purcell got a special mention by the adjudicators.
The band played fantastically well, well done to everyone for all their hard work!
Thanks Music for Youth (http://www.mfy.org.uk/) and Haslingden High School (http://www.haslingdenhigh.lancs.sch.uk/) for a brilliant day – fingers crossed for Birmingham.
