Middleton Band have qualified to go to the National Finals in September 2013. To do this it is going to cost the band in excess of £7,000. We will be carrying out several fund raising events over the coming months. One of these events is the sponsored walk on Saturday 13th July 2013 for everyone to come along and enjoy a ramble around Middleton, and help the Band add to the funds to get them to Cheltenham. The walk will begin at 11am at the Old Boars head before heading off towards Tandle Hills then back again. The route should take approximately four hours to complete.

We will remember them.
The band were very proud to lead the remembrance procession from Long Street to the Cenotaph in Middleton today.
At 10.30 we struck up with ‘Westward Ho!’ to lead the parade through the town. There was an excellent turn out by the people of Middleton who lined the streets as the band and other representatives including members of the Legion, dignitaries, uniformed groups such as guides and scouts, Army and Navy cadets, Marines and veterans from various conflicts marched through the town centre.

Proms Concert at St Katharine’s, Blackrod, 2012
The band have had a ball playing a proms style concert tonight at St Katharine’s Blackrod.
We began our concert with ‘On the Quarterdeck’ then continued with the overture ‘The magic Flute’.
Our first soloist Bryce Ford played “My Love is Like a Red Red Rose” perfectly.
