Fond farewell and new signing

It is with sadness that we announce a fond farewell to our 1st baritone Sarah Royle who leaves the band due to increased work and family commitments. Sarah has been a core member of the band for the past 13 years and has been a key part of the band’s success over that time. Notably helping the band win the 3rd section National finals in 2007 gaining promotion to the 2nd Section, recording 3 CD’s and achieving another trip to the finals in 2013 amongst many more good times and successes.

We wish Sarah the best of luck for the future and hope to see her very soon! Once a member of Middleton, aways a member of Middleton and a warm welcome will await Sarah should she feel the banding itch once again.

In the meantime we are delighted to announce that the 1st baritone position has been taken up by Jenny Wade who has stepped up from 2nd Baritone. Jenny will be filling this seat for a short while before going on maternity leave.

The 2nd Baritone seat has been taken by Rebekah Harrison. Rebekah is currently principal Euphonium with our talented youth band and has been sitting in with the main band for several years.

It’s a great testament to the development of the youth band that we have young players who are ready and able to make the move up to the main band to sit in rehearsals and to fill vacancies as and when they occur.
