Principal Cornet - Adam Albinson
Adam started playing the trumpet at the age of 8 with Mr Mooney at Christ the King Primary School. He was given an opportunity to play for Mr John Miller at the Royal Northern College of Music when he was 11, who suggested he audition for the Junior RNCM. Adam started attending the Junior RNCM in 2007 where he completed his grade 5 trumpet in 2008. Adam has performed with many different orchestras and bands including Manchester Youth Wind Orchestra. He has also competed in competitions as a solo artist and won his category at Blackpool Festival in 2009. Adam attends St Matthew’s RC High School where he is principal trumpet in the Concert Band and the Brass Ensemble.
In April 2010 he started showing an interest in Brass Bands, so he came to an open day with Middleton Band. He enjoys the hectic life of the Brass Band; he gets pleasure from playing the cornet and is grateful for the chances the band has given him, like playing the post horn for the very first time. Adam’s hopes for the future are to be the best he can be.
