Sarah started playing cornet at the age of 7 with the 2nd Rossendale Scout Band where she worked her way from cornet to horn then eventually baritone.
Sarah first appeared with Middleton band for a short time when she was about 11 years old.
From the ages of 13 until 18 Sarah played baritone with Goodshaw Band and also played with the Lancashire Youth Band, touring with them to Austria before giving up banding to go to University.
Sarah soon came out of retirement when she bumped into band secretary Fred at the Blackpool areas in 2003 and arranged to come down for a blow over the summer and has been here ever since!
Sarah’s Most amazing memory is playing at and winning the national finals 2007 with Midd!
Middleton Band welcome Jackie to the band. Jackie will be covering the baritone seat whilst Sarah is on maternity leave.
Aaron first started playing when he started senior school at the age of 11. He claims to have been tricked into attending a meeting in the music room which led to him being sat in a chair and given a bass. He remembers being told to ‘blow into that and make a noise’.
After a few months of dragging a Bb Bass around school Aaron moved onto the Baritone.
In 2002 Aaron joined Besses Boys Band’s training band and in 2003 he was invited to play with the main band. After a short stint sat on 2nd Baritone Aaron progressed into the solo seat where he stayed until 2007 when he joined The Middleton Band.
The highlight of Aaron’s banding career was winning the 3rd section national finals.
Jenny also plays baritone for us on an ad hoc basis. Spoiled we are! Awaiting Biography.
