Last night of the proms at St Katharine’s Blackrod

Our 2nd Last Night of the Proms concert this year was held at St Katharine’s Blackrod on the 4th October. This is a popular event that the band enjoy attending every two years.

What a fun filled evening! The band played to a packed out house who were very appreciative as always.
The programme consisted of favorites such as ‘Another Openin’ Another Show,’ ‘Tara’s theme,’ ‘Hot Toddy,’ ‘Cute,’ ‘Valero,’ ‘Cossack ride and Slavonic dance,’ ‘Fame and Glory,’ ‘Keep smiling through,’ ‘1014’ and our very own principal cornet Adam Albinson playing the solo ‘Buster strikes back.’

The concert was rounded off with Last Night of the Proms standards ‘There’ll always be an England,’ ‘ Jerusalem,’ ‘ Fantasia on British sea songs,’ and “Pomp and circumstance.’

Both the band and the audience had a great night and are looking forward to our next appearance!
